Pattern Imprinted Concrete Paving, Better Than Slab Paving?

You have the most beautiful house in the neighborhood. You personally chose the colors of the paints used to finish the walls inside and outside. The windows are also your hand-picked design including the roof and everything else that is seen about the house. But you should not forget that you must also pay much attention to your driveway’s paving because it is through it that your visitors will enter your house.

There are two commonly used styles of driveway paving. The pattern imprinted concrete paving and the slab paving. While both are effective in creating driveways, the pattern imprinted concrete paving stands out as the better choice between the two. Let us explain by describing both.

Slab paving is when large sizes or slabs of stone are used in making a driveway. There are many types of stones that can be utilized and this process provides a solid look and feel for a driveway. But the problem lies when the driveway is mainly used for vehicles. Large slabs of stone cannot properly support the weight of a vehicle since all the force is concentrated on the tire and correspondingly, on just one point of contact with the slab. This creates too much force causing the slab of stone to eventually crack.

Another thing is that there are fewer choices for patterns when slab paving is used.

A pattern imprinted concrete paving on the other hand is more durable. It is created by stamping molds and the colors are later added in the concrete. Since these are smaller in sizes, there more patterns available using this process. The imagination is the limit when it comes to the designs possible with a pattern imprinted concrete paving.
